Tool Steel Options
Anderson-Cook offers two main options for tooling steel: conventional and premium.
Conventional
Anderson-Cook’s high quality, conventional steel has proven itself as the “go to” material over the past three decades. Conventional steel offers this proven track record at a lower initial investment.
Premium
Customers move to premium steel for one of two reasons. First, premium steel offers a 10% to 50% increase in piece part production depending on the applicator, while being reground at the same price as a tool made of conventional steel. Second, the part hardness may dictate the use of premium steel. Higher Rockwell hardness parts may demand a move away from conventional material. Anderson-Cook’s tooling department can help make this determination.
